MGT is a family-owned and operated apparel company that has been an industry leader in women’s sleepwear, loungewear, bridal lingerie, and intimates since 1984. Our innovation and market intelligence, combined with our long-term relationships overseas, have allowed the company to prosper in a very competitive playing field. With our two warehouses in Los Angeles, we are committed to shipping quality garments on time to our extensive list of customers.
MGT Industries was acquired by Robert (Bob) Mirvis in 1984. The company was a small loungewear manufacturer producing garments domestically in Los Angeles. In 1985, Bob expanded the company into sleepwear and introduced a luxurious polyester “charmeuse“ satin from Japan, and the rest was history. The label “California Dynasty“ became synonymous with fluid, elegant, European-style sleepwear, and took the market by storm. Ever the innovator, Bob began printing on the fabric, which became a hallmark of the label. He also introduced variations of the new industry-favorite fabric that opened doors to multiple chains and private label development.
In 2001, MGT Industries brought to the sleepwear market the versatile, fluid, brushed poly-span knit. To this day,the fabrication is a best-selling staple throughout all labels. The company continues to innovate and invest in new fabric development, print innovations, and trend-savvy styling across all divisions and private label development.
Officers of the Company
Jeffrey Mirvis has worked at MGT since 1988 and became the company’s CEO in 2001. During his tenure, he has established long-term partnerships with our key suppliers overseas. Prior to MGT, Jeff earned a BA in Business and Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He also completed the commercial loan training program at Union Bank of California, where he worked lending money to middle-market companies for three years. Jeff served on the Wildwood School board for nine years and is currently a board member of Motorcar Parts of America, a Nasdaq-traded company.
Alessandra Strahl joined MGT Industries as a partner in 1987 and serves as President and Director of Merchandising. Prior to MGT, Sandy graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles, with a degree in Art and Public Relations. She spent five years as a buyer and merchandiser for Bullock’s Department Stores. Thereafter, Sandy worked with Bob Mirvis at M’Lady of California, a large-size sportswear manufacturer, for 10 years before joining him as a partner at MGT.
